Ubuntu Quick Start Guide

Like everything else in Ubuntu using a torrent client is really easy. This tutorial will give you a quick run through of the process of downloading a torrent file. This "Quick Start" guide only gives you what you need to get up and running, if you are interested in a more detailed description please go to our tutorials section.

Video Tutorial

Step 1 - Installing a Torrent Client

If your using Ubuntu version 7.04 to 8.04 you have gnome Bit torrent installed by default. If you are running 8.04 or greater you have the Transmission torrent client installed by default.

Step 2 - Downloading a Torrent

Using Firefox(also installed by default). Go to a website such as Revision 3, find the link to the torrent file and open it with the default client.
